Rob Balucas
Paratriathlete, three-time IRONMAN World Championship qualifier and fourth at the 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
About
Rob Balucas took up triathlon in 2015 and was training for his first IRONMAN 70.3 that September when a crash on a downhill turn left him paralysed from the waist down. Within twelve months he had raced three triathlons. He now races with a handcycle and a racing wheelchair, and has qualified for the IRONMAN World Championship three times.
Away from racing he is the founder and Chief Creative Catalyst at babaLucas Creative, a TEDx speaker, a spokesperson for the Challenged Athletes Foundation, and a coach at the Angel City Games.
