About
The Major Taylor Cycling Club of Philadelphia, also known as MTCC Philly, was formed in 2015 by cyclists of all levels who wish to represent the spirit of Major Taylor in Philadelphia and the tri-state region.
Its mission is to promote a healthy lifestyle through cycling, encourage camaraderie among riders, and build community among cyclists and cycling organizations. The club also educates the public about its namesake, Marshall "Major" Taylor, who in 1899 became the first African-American world cycling champion.
